Dun "roamin"

This past week we received a letter from the Cobb County Animal Control warning that they have had complaints about our animal running loose. I was perplexed by this, considering that I have a 12 lb dachshund that lives indoors. When he is outside, he is in enclosed by a 6 foot privacy fence. Any escapes are immediately thwarted by me- sometimes running down the street in my underwear to keep him from being hit on Shiloh Rd. I must admit, I felt betrayed too. Who would turn me in without so much as a word or anything?? Of course, calling the animal control office was a waste of time. The case worker (yes, I now had a case number), was out of the office and would not return until Sunday. I had to wait four long days to solve my dilemma! Today, we got an email from the case worker. It was a mistake. Someone has reported a grey cat who is apparently not "dunroamin" so if it is your's, claim it. Moral of the story here? It is OKAY to confront a neighbor with a concern before calling authorities- cats, dog poop, leaves, car in the street, rusted out dishwasher next to the mailbox, etc. You will find that 9 times out of 10, the person you consider the perpetrator, is totally clueless about their offense. I mean, hey, until last week, I had NO idea I even had a cat....

1st funny about your dog ( probably not when you were going thru it)I am shocked you didn't get in trouble for running around in your underwear hehehe!!

Finally since you slipped in the leaf issue and you were present when I tried talking to a neighbor about said problem. You must know that not everyone is receptive to being talked with. You do not have to like or even talk with your neighbor (although it would be preferable).

You state it is probably 9 times out of 10 person is clueless. Well not in this case as we have gone to them numerous times pleading to please keep leaves away from fence as it rots it out. This request has been refused for 7 years. My widowed senior citizen mother has even requested and it's still refused. She's gone back and said if you wont can I come over and rake away from fence as cannot afford to keep repairing . The answer to this was?? Are you ready? YES, YOU CAN COME AND CLEAN OUR SIDE- INCREDIBLE-. I wont let her do that it is just so wrong. We ran flashing to keep wet heavy leaves off and how is this handled ? By stacking toy houses, pots and other items up onto fence. We move items away and they put right back onto. A misunderstanding ? NO!!Neighborly??NO..Waste of energy?Yes
I go out with my leaf blower and blow leaves away from fence along property line. My side goes my way, theirs go their way. This upsets neighbor as she I am told hides and takes my picture. This I find pathetic and actually quite freaky. I asked her if there was a problem and she said I was blowing my leaves into her yard. I said no, Im blowing your side away from fence having asked you numerous times to do so. Then incredibly the next thing she said was "There from your tree", I mean come on, we state we love our beautiful tree lined neighborhood and we can seriously say which leaves come from which tree?? Tree there belong to her to. Leaves blow from all over, the other side of my house has numerous beautiful trees which I appreciate as they give me shade and privacy in summer. But not one of them is my tree. I have been cleaning that side for 15 years now. I've never thought of knocking on neighbors door and saying hey can you come clean up your leaves. The magnolia leaves and pine needles that come into my yard and that I clean up in street that collect in front of my house I also don't have a pine tree nor a magnolia tree on property but I know who does. Maybe they should come clean up?? Or maybe I can just do the right thing and deal with it as adult and neighbor. So I will continue to happily clean up after my neighbors leaves as I enjoy the beauty that comes along with it.Well gotta go get my leaf blower and move some leaves .
Enjoy your day!!
